Asmara
Scarlet & djarum black bed coverlet. Crafted on ancient looms on the island of Lombok.
There is something about the people who weave these fabrics; I find them gentle yet incredibly strong and beautiful. The name Asmara is of Urdu origin meaning ‘beautiful butterfly’.
Dimensions: Bedcover; 1.7 m wide x 2.7 m long, including fringe. Pillow covers; (2) 75 x 48 cm. (2) 60 x 60cm. The bed shown is a single bed. This coverlet can be a single bed cover or end coverlet for any size bed.
Designed in Melbourne, crafted in Lombok.
Artisan: PanjiSari womens weaving group in Lombok, Indonesia.
Gifting: to purchase an overlocker for the Deaf Ashram for women in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Materials: cotton, bamboo, polyester.
Care: Dry-clean or gently spot clean.
